September 3rd training run

I figured that I should share a pic of the view of our hotel room last night.

Before you ask yes there was 6 or so trains that came threw last night while we were sleeping.  I know this because they all blew their horn and woke us up.

Today we came home from vacation but not without some more activities.

We stopped to throw some rocks into Lake Superior in Duluth.  Z has to do this every time we go to Duluth.

When we made it home I did my run for today.  After yesterdays 7 mile run I only did 3.15 miles today.  I took my speed easy as well so it took me 30:50 to do it.  

While we were traveling I worked a little on my cross stitch.  I am doing some back stitching because I only have a little left to do and I hate back stitching.

Yup it still doesn’t look like anything but it will at some point I hope.

September 2nd training run

Today we got up at 4 am to head out for our little overnight adventure.  

We went to the Boundry Waters Canoe Area and played on the lakes for the day.

So what does a girl do after a day of paddling?  She goes for a run somewhere she has never ran before.

I made it for my longest run in a long time today.  I went 7 miles!  I actually ran for 7 miles in 1:07:04.  I also made it to 100 days for my run streak!  I never thought that I would make it this far but here I am rocking it.

I forgot to get a post run selfie so I took one while I was way overeating at dinner.  There are times when you can be a pig and times you shouldn’t.  Today I decided that it was ok to be one lol.

July 3rd training run

We finished up our vacation today and made it home in time to get in a quick run.

We saw a frozen rock waterfall from a boat on the Spooky Cave Boat Tour in Iowa which was tons of fun.

K and I did week 13 day 1 of our couch to 10K training run this evening.  We made it 5.07 miles in 56:15.

The run felt great and it felt good to be back to running in our own neighborhood.  I love being away and seeing new places but being home feels just right.

July 2nd training run

Today’s vacation spot was the zoo and the 2 little ones got trapped in a bear trap.


We are on our 3rd day of vacation and K and I ran in our 3rd new place.

Today was just a 5k but we did it after a buffet dinner so it was a slow sick feeling run of 3.15 miles in 31:09.

K and I took our selfie tan lines and all on our way to relax in the pool.  

Tomorrow night we will be back at home in time to do our week 13 day 1 of the 10k trainer.

July 1st training run

Today we are on our second day of vacation and the highlight was a train ride.

It was only a 20 minute ride but it still was a train ride.

K and I did make our week 12 day 3 run today as well.  We went on an out and back due to not wanting to get lost in a new area so we encountered hill’s that sucked.  We ended up with 6.43 miles in 1:07:20.

Tomorrow is another 5K day so hopefully we can get some pool time with the others.

June 30th month review

Today we left our house at 4:30 am to start our vacation adventure.  

G and K both went on their first plane rides.

I have never flown in a plane before but now both boys have.

We did other stuff as well but I don’t want to bore you with the detailed on my running blog.

So after dinner and checking into the hotel K and I went in search of a place to run at.  Unfortunately the only place we could find was the local mall that has sidewalks so 3 trips around the mall later we had 3.15 miles in 29:47.

Today is also the last day of the month so I am going to review my progress.

Days run: 30 out of 30

Miles: 125.69

Total miles for the year: 634.43

I had an awesome month and I hope to have an even better July.  July is also my very first 1k and 10K so stay tuned to see how they go.

May 27th training run

Today was hot.

I am not a fan of running in the heat but I did it anyway.

I made it to 1.75 miles before I started taking walking breaks.  I normally don’t walk during a run but man sometimes you have to.

I am on a weekend vacation so I was running in a new area along the shoulder of a highway in the sun so I am content with how I did.  I did bring my hydration pack and that was a huge help so I think that I am going to carry it on all of my runs this summer.
